The running costs associated with the operation of the Lions Club Organisation are fully paid for by the members consequently all the profits raised from fundraising events are donated to Charity.
The International Lions Club supports many charities throughout the world and is frequently one of the first organisations to get money to the local Lions Club after a disaster. Details of these can be found on the International Web site.
In the Horley Club we support the International organisation but we are also keen to help those in our own neighbourhood. This could be to a local individual who needs assistance in the purchase of an essential item or to local Charitable Organisation such as: -

Each year a large proportion of the profit from the Horse Show is donated to this worthwhile cause which helps disabled people enjoy the thrills of horse riding. We also thankfully acknowledge the considerable assistance that members of the RDA give us in the organisation and running of the Horse Show.
This centre cares for those children who suffer from acute Epilepsy providing them with an education as well as the best medical help. It works in partnership with Great Ormand Street Hospital.
As a result of the generosity of the local people at Christmas time we also prepare and distribute over 100 food parcels to those in need. These are gratefully received and bring a little cheer to many people who have a very lonely Christmas.
The tradition in the Club is that the President selects the main Charities for the year and this year Neil James, who has been an active member for over 22 years, has chosen MacMillan Cancer Support, The Children’s Trust, National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE), The Alzheimer's Society and Activenture
